@Tayatranscendent Heck yeah. Probably won't be early enough for pregaming, though, chatting with some of the organizers about how to get more folks showing up.
@DialMforMara @SliverQueen the main difference I see there is people can build a standard deck whenever and just show up. If we had brewing challenges they’d need to know ahead of time and make something new. I’m still absolutely for the idea though.
I’m still pretty new to the group, but it does seems like half or so of the regular attendees are mox or ck staff. Is that accurate? I love the idea of doing things at other locations or other times it attracts more people.
@Tayatranscendent @DialMforMara Yeah, having more restrictive or niche formats raises the barrier to energy, the more people have to plan ahead the less we'll get. Other times and locations would be good, I know Nick at Phoenix wanted to get some LPS events. We also just need to advertise better (at all), even as much as a poster on the bulletin board in the shop. Just being at cons isn't cutting it for us.
@Tayatranscendent @DialMforMara I'd also like to see more week-to-week continuity to encourage returning players - either a long-term league, or just awards or recognition for people playing well over multiple events. Not just "most wins" but most unique brews, most improved, broadest skill set, those sorts of things.
@DialMforMara @Tayatranscendent As much as I like the idea of Constructed challenges, those are for people like us who are already committed to being there every Tuesday, and are willing to plan ahead. We need events that people can look at Monday afternoon, think, sure, I'll do that, and just show up.
I think it'd be cool to work out a deal with CK to run a brewing workshop, where anyone attending can get a discount on ordering commons or uncommons from upstairs.
