Here's the deck I'm planning to bring to Standard night. Anyone got suggestions? I think it could stand to be more consistent (more 3 and 4-ofs, fewer 2s).
@ishara I don't know much about the meta, but you're probably right that Ixalan's Binding/Conclave Tribunal/Hieromancer's Cage can handle artifact and enchantment removal.
I'll put either the Charges or the Adventurous Impulses in, but I'm not sure which I'll need more right now.
And I might have a Song of Freyalise, but if I do it's buried in a Commander deck :P
@ishara What do you think of Join Shields?
@DialMforMara I'm having a hard time evaluating join shields here. My gut feeling is that using it to push through damage seems inefficient, but might be useful on defense if you can surprise destroy a few of the opponent's attacking creatures.
@DialMforMara It is a bad card.
So is Flight of Equenauts.
Do you have any Saproling Migration, Sworn Companions and Spore Swarms that you could add along with Song of Freyalise to go the Token route?
Also you might want to go down on those taplands, maybe a 3-4 or 3-3 split instead of 4-4.
@Ice_In_Disguise I don't think I have enough of any of those things. I'm trying to make this deck consistent.
Why is Flight of Equenauts bad and what do you recommend I replace it with?
@DialMforMara Too expensive for that body. Also you should try and be the beatdown.
More Conclave Cavaliers or more/better two drops. As I said, you should try to be the beatdown, so if you have any decent one drops, that could also help. If you do, those Charge could be moved to the maindeck in place of Luminous Bond, and then be replaced by Pride of Conquerors if you have those.
@Ice_In_Disguise I have one Pride of Conquerors and it’s in my Tajic deck.
What counts as a “decent one drop”? I’m looking at Healer’s Hawk, mostly because it flies.
@DialMforMara Healer's Hawk gets much better if you have Ajani's Pridemate, otherwise Skymarcher Aspirant, Dauntless Bodyguard and/or Leonin Vanguard would beat it.
Llanowar Elves, Hunted Witness and/or Snubhorn Sentry could also be considerations.
@Ice_In_Disguise I have enough of Healer's Hawk, Hunted Witness, and Llanowar Elves.
I've also got Snubhorn Sentries, but they don't really say "beatdown" to me. Should I use them on the assumption that they will survive until I can get the City's Blessing?
@DialMforMara Nah, if you have the 12 1-drops that is more than enough, Hawk being the weaker of the bunch, but a 3-3-4 or 2-3-4 split can be used(?)
I would cut the Flights, Rosemane Centaurs, Ledev Champions(1 or 2 depending on taste), and probably the Adventurous Impulses.
Then, if you have more Knight of Autumn, add those. If you can find the room, another Flower//Flourish could be nice perhaps.
Do recognize you have a lower curve and might be able to cut a land or two.
@DialMforMara (If you have Adanto Vanguards you should have added those already, but I should mention them)
@Ice_In_Disguise The result appears to be a Convoke deck without any Convoke in it.
@DialMforMara March of the Multitudes and Venerated Loxodon being the only good convoke card they printed, yes that is what you get. An Aggro deck that does not take a turn off from winning to win no quicker than before most of the time.
Here's what that looks like, given the constraints of my collection at the moment.
I would personally feel a lot more confident bringing this. It is by no means a tier 1 deck, but I hope and think you can have fun with it. ^.^
