It's basically Color Pie 101, as well as the beginning of Jodah's origin story and some very important Dominarian history, dressed up as a moderately cliched coming-of-age story
The best part is that it explicitly ties casting spells to drawing mana from lands, and I want to see more of that sort of theory in Magic story
